The wind was blowing against the riders for the first round of the NFCC 15 Challenge Aggregate TT Series. The series is formed of three rounds of the same 15 mile course across the season, making it the perfect test for the legs and a pleasant change the the usual 10 mile courses. It was another strong turnout on the evening with 18 riders completing the event.

Tight at the top this week with Club Members Ted Ward, Henry Lloyd-Williams and Chris Harris all within 12 seconds but it was 17 year-old Ted who took the line honours in 33:50 – only 22 seconds off the Club Rider course record. The only other rider to have been close to the record in the last few years is Henry Lloyd-Williams who, even with a sub-1hr20min half marathon from the weekend in his legs (chapeau!), still managed to finish only 5 seconds off Ted’s time in 33:55 for second place. Chris Harris searched for all the excuses after the event and blamed his dry chain and amateur valve taping  for the 34:02 – still an excellent time given the conditions and the fastest recorded time for him on this course.

Natalie Green was the fastest of the women on the night with Bev Hards and Michelle Lock giving their all to chase her down with times of 41m41s, 43m24s and 45m56s respectively.
