NFCC Cyclocross – Volunteers Required: 29 Jan 2023

This is a call for helpers on Sunday (29th) for the final round of the Wessex CX League at Crow, Ringwood. This is the event that the NFCC jointly run with Bournemouth Arrow, Bournemouth Jubilee and Poole Wheelers. The NFCC are in charge of the signing on/numbers as well as the course building/dismantling. We will have around 400 riders to get signed on during the day, so please can I have at least 2 people to help me! The sign-on tent is very busy from 8am and gradually becoming quieter into the early afternoon, so if you can only offer the morning then that is fine. Bring a chair for those moments when you can sit down.
Other people are required for marshalling points around the course during the races and to help dismantle the course after the final race. We need to get the course down before it gets dark. Marshals usually get different places for different races, if they choose, which makes the day more interesting.
People volunteering for the sign-on tent need to be there by 8am, marshals and other course helpers by 9am and course dismantlers, if you can’t make the morning, need to be there at 3pm. If anybody can’t stay all day, that is fine; any help is greatly appreciated. This is a big event and it takes a lot of people to make it run successfully.
Dress warmly!! There is hot food and drink to buy at the field kitchen. There are also toilets. Please park in the competitors car park and walk up the hill to the event village. There will be an NFCC flag at the event entrance off Charles’s Lane. Drive carefully down the gravel track as it’s very bumpy. Nearest postcode BH24 3FB; What3Words: begin.postings.pepper
Please can you let me know if you can help. Email Catherine by CLICKING HERE. I can’t stress how much hard work and time the organising team puts into this event. But we can’t do it without helpers from all four clubs. So thank you in advance for offering your help on Sunday (and Saturday if you are course building with us in the morning from 10am).
