Usual meet at 0850 for an 0900 depart from the main car park in Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. Ther is a well subscribed sportive in the forest this week so roads will be worse than usual and potentially some sub-optimal overtaking when drivers try to get past large packs of riders. So, our plan is to avoid the route they’re using and get out of the forest. We will be sharing the road with the sportive on the way out to Hatchet Pond but in the opposite direction. For our safety, please ensure that the groups are kept in tight formation as usual but especially where we are sharing the roads with the sportive which means re-group asap at the top of the hill out of Brock.

Ride is a 120Km route to the north with coffee at the Community Shop in Broughton. After the ride we will take the loop around Stockbridge / Kings Sombourne but for a change in an anti-clockwise direction. Bus Pass Graham had a brainwave that this would be better than clockwise, give us left turns instead of right. I think he’s right so we will test that this week. It will mean one short sharp hill out of Kings Sombourne but he assures us it’s fine.
