Weekly Round-up: 2 October 2022

All the latest news, events, and results from NFCC Members from this weeks two-wheeled adventures…
With autumn fast approaching, it seems midweek activities are on the decrease, but if you do find yourself out and about representing NFCC, don’t forget to jot down a few words, snap a few photos and send them over to press@newforestcc.co.uk.

Saturday Club Ride

This week, the club ride was postponed in order to help with the guiding of riders on Stu Grace’s Shut Up Legs Charity Ride with Jens Voigt and Marion Clignet.
A dozen NFCC Riders joined Stu at Hobourne Bashley to guide a number of riders around a predetermined 85km route in the Forest where Jens & Marion would filter through the groups for a chat, before retuning to the site for refreshments and a Q&A with the superstars… Whoever decided a cheese board would be a good idea for riders on their on return was a genius!
Thanks again for having us Stu!

Sunday Club Ride

Sadly, this weeks Sunday Club ride was rained off.
Normal service should resume next week…

Paceline RT Open: P881/10

Gary Lock & Paul Lockyer escaped the forest to test their legs on on the fast P881/10 course on Sunday morning.
Promoted by Paceline RT, the 10 mile course uses a section of the A3 where riders escape the dual carriageway on a slip-road before doubling back on themselves to chase the finish line. The course is renowned for fast times and was won on the day in 17:33 – a new course record. Lockyer got the better of the NFCC Duo, finishing 14 overall in 19:56, and Lock crossed the line in a solid 21:30.
