OffRoad Social Ride – 10 May 2023

This coming Wednesday – 10th – we will be doing another off-road ride at Moors Valley MTB circuit. The original plan had been to go to Avon Tyrrell, but the course there doesn’t hold up well in prolonged wet weather. So it’s back to Moors Valley. We will meet at 6:20pm for a 6:30pm start. The meeting place is Blynkbonnie car park in Ringwood; nearest post code BH24 1DN; entrance just past the fish and chip shop. Parking is free after 6pm.

We will ride at a sociable pace to Moors Valley, as a warm up. It’s just 3.5 miles, all off-road, from the car park to the start of the circuit. The circuit itself is approximately 4 miles. We will each ride the circuit at our own pace (i.e. as fast or as slow as you like!) and meet up back at the visitor centre for the ride back. Hopefully there will be time for two laps for those who wish to, or three if you are a) Jay Tarrant or b) can keep up with him!

The circuit is suitable for mtb, gravel and cx bikes and isn’t at all difficult or technical and has no steep sections at all. The surface is good and mud is rare, although there may be some puddles left after the recent rain.

Bring lights for the ride back, just in case.

For information: We will be following the blue route on the map here (with the exception of a newly instated diversion just before the visitor centre): https://moors-valley.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2018/05/Trails-map-guide-2018-Cycling.pdf
