Weekly Round-up: 4 December 2022

All the latest news, events, and results from NFCC Members from this week’s two-wheeled adventures…
With dark evenings drawing in, it seems midweek activities are on the decrease, but if you do find yourself out and about representing NFCC, don’t forget to jot down a few words, snap a few photos and send them over to press@newforestcc.co.uk.

World Masters CX Championships

NFCC Cyclocross Superstar Catherine Pascoe lined up with some of the best age-group athletes in the world at the 2022 World Masters Cyclocross Championships in Ipswich on Friday. Find out how she got on by CLICKING HERE.

Saturday Club Ride

Chilly conditions for the Saturday Club Ride saw a number of Members in what can only be described as ‘big gloves’ for this week’s club ride. This week’s route was a 93Km loop, taking in the last of the autumn leaves. Coffee stop at The Potting Shed at around 52Km in supplied everyone with the caffeine they needed to make it home and get back in the warm.

Sunday Club Ride

A well attended Sunday Club Ride saw riders heading out into the cold, heading east from Brokenhurst for a loop via Ipley cross, then back to Beaulieu for another loop around East Boldre, before heading to Setley ridge cafe via Hatchett pond.

Central League Crossmas: Rd. 11

Jonathan Chadwick raced the Central League Crossmas: Rd. 11 to make up for an untimely puncture on the start grid at the previous Wessex CX round at Andover. The fast, flat, and slippy course at Ashlyns School in Berkhamsted seemed to be well suited his skills. After being gridded 86th, he managed to fight his way through quite a few places and was very pleased with 43rd place after a couple of crashes and, you guessed it, a slow puncture.
