NFCC Ten Series Rd.8: P182/10

Gripped in the middle of a heatwave, the forest was in fine fettle for a time trial with the warm conditions only presenting a headwind along the final stretch of the course. P182/10 is known for its climbing, finishing at a higher elevation than it starts with the undulating parcourse preventing riders from settling into any solid rhythm, and two final fast climbs are a real test to see who’s got any legs left.
It was a two way battle for the women with Emma Shepherd (NFCC) the fastest, crossing the line in 30m10s with Michelle Walters (Bournemouth Arrow) chasing her down and coming in second at 32m39s.
Phill Brown (NFCC) finally got the better of season rival Paul Lockyer (NFCC) for the top steps of the podium, finishing in 23m43s and 23m57s. Joe Shepherd made it a clean sweep of the podium for NFCC, finishing in 26m26s.
With only two rounds to go in the NFCC Ten Series, the overall standings are still wide open and a number of riders are in with a chance of clinching an overall division victory. Current standings can be found by CLICKING HERE.

As always with all Club TTs, we couldn’t do it without those that give up their time to volunteer on the evening and we’ve been really fortunate with so many people wanting to help so far this year – take a look at the marshal roster HERE and get in touch if you have a spare few hours on a Tuesday evening and would like to help out.
