![]() RCR – TMC Goodwood TTT 4-UpNFCC fielded a team at the RCR – TMC Goodwood Team Time Trial this week for a bit of 4-Up action on the race track. Ben George, James Noah, and Jay T all joined Phill Brown at his second home – Goodwood Race Circuit – for an evening of fast fun! The quartet hit the track towards the pointier end of proceedings and managed to hold a near 45km/h average for 10 laps of the circuit. The four riders worked exceedingly well together for the first six laps before it dropped to a three-man effort for the final four laps. With the third rider of the team crossing the line to record their final time, it was a solid 51m02 for the NFCC riders, finishing in 18th place from 45 teams on the night. |
![]() Saturday Club RideAfter last weeks diabolical weather forecast it was business as usual this Saturday with clement conditions and a challenging wind to deal with. Fourteen riders made the start, every single one of them kitted out in club jerseys, which made for two very smart pelotons leaving Brockenhurst – Thanks to all those that design, manage and procure the kit for making us such a well turned out club. The planned ride was 133Km and largely within the forest this week. With only 7 Km on the clock, the barrel was settled with another debutante and another epic fail. Chris F was the victim of “exploding seat clamp syndrome”, a mechanical mishap previously demonstrated by Smithy who had to ride home sans saddle when his gave up. But this calamity was entirely self inflicted and hence a shoe-in for the barrel. We have had a number of issues with weight weenies in the club, but Chris had decided to replace the bolts in his seat clamp with titanium ones – an all imporatnt EIGHT GRAM saving. Not only that he had fitted shorter bolts that were not long enough for the job. So, for putting the tit in titanium, Chris joins the barrel alumni this week. |
